What to make????

Making for the unknown?

So, it seems that there are always so many things to make and so many idea's of what can possibly been done.  Having just had Christmas a couple of days ago many of the last months have been filled with projects for either Christmas gifts and/or fairs.  This is something I love to do but it is also nice to have other things to work on that have a bit more variety.

Our house project is almost finished so once that is done i will get to make some things for the house, as you can imagine i am REALLY looking forward to that.  there is still time to fill before that thought so what to work on until then......

I am in the wonderful position of expecting two new little nieces and/or nephews in the coming months....  I have started a very cute top down sweater for one of the little ones when they arrive.  I just hope one of them will be the correct gender although in saying that we have many friends also expecting so really... the next few months will probably be spent on baby gifts!!  I love to make baby gifts, the yarn is so soft!!

Ealing 135 Christmas Craft Fair

Today Eden and I were at the EALING 135 CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR. We had a great day. We both enjoy chatting to the people that come to look at our table and find out what they are looking for and why. It is especially fun at this time of the year when you find out who people at buying for and what they are thinking the people would like.
As much as I enjoy hearing what other people are looking for I am still very glad to be finished all of my Christmas shopping.

Fairy garlands

A friend of ours had her 4th birthday this week. I was tasked with making the fairy garlands. They seem to have been a great success.

The Christmas fair season!

Every year the Christmas fair season sneaks up on me, I am not sure how it happens but it always does!

This year I thought I was extra prepared and then stuff started to sell out..... I guess I am making more stuff before the next one!

so many scarfs......

so many loopy scarfs.....

As i am sure it is for many people that have small home based business' and/or cottage industry type business' the 6-8 weeks before Christmas is busy!!  There is only so much you can prepare in advance of this as often gift giving trends change and if you start too far in advance you can find yourself left with a large stock of last years products that no one really wants.... that would not be good!

These scarfs above are fun to make and last year I had made a couple for gifts and then only two for the first christmas fair. They both sold very quickly so this year i have decided to make a lot more and already have 3 of them reserved for people to collect on the day.  It is great when such a fun to make product goes quickly....... that means i can make more!!

some other fun things i am working on are hair clips, rings, hair clip holders..... well, maybe i shouldn't tell you all of the things as i am sure i will start taking photo's and put more up soon!

My little Dino man!

I love Dinosaurs!! As a grown women there really isn't much of a place for them in my daily life. Having little boys around has always been my Dino outlet!

So, it is no surprise that I have made him a Dino hat for this winter!!

Little lunch bags

This is an attempt at little lunch bags, maybe they would be described best as a snack bag???

Striped Baby Hat

This ones a custom made baby hat. This one is going to a very special little boy!

Flower Hair Clip Display.

A friend who is leaving the country (moving back to the USA) is slowly getting rid of things in her home, when she stopped by my house the other day she blessed me with a wonderful wicker style basket she had made. The is lovely and I was really sure of how to use it t first.

Having the basket sitting on our sideboard for a few days gave me the chance to keep visualising it to decide how to use it.

I soon thought it would be best used at draft fairs to display FLOWER HAIR CLIPS, I think they look pretty good together.

Little girls handbag

A friends little girl was over this week and really liked a little handbag I had that was for a 3 or 4 year old. Well, she clearly needed a larger bag so that was a fun project for this week.

Crochet Coasters

Sitting in the beautiful and rare London Sun I made this lovely set of 5 coasters. I probably should have made 6 but instead I stopped and had a homemade milkshake..... Well, a girl has to have her priorities!!!

Mini-granny square placemats

This project has taken a while but completely worth it, I believe that the friend who will be receiving it will be pleased!

Flower Hair Clips

I am attempting some new styles with flower hair clips. The old style always sells well but I would love to hear what you think of the new ones!

Bunting!

Well, somehow it has been a while since I posted the projects I have been working on. I realised I even managed to sell and give some away as gifts without taking pics.... I guess life has been busy!

I have been trying to work through my yarn stash with some new projects. This is my attempt at bunting! I think it worked out pretty well.

What have you been working on?

Little Pearl Tunic

Again with the little pearl vest pattern but this time a little pearl tunic.

This one was sent off to a friend as a surprise gift... i am hoping it fits.

Little Pearl Cardigan

Little Pearl Cardigan

So, it seems the I love the Little Pearl Vest pattern and attempted to make a little cardigan to see if it would work.

Eden was in need of a little something to wear in the evening or on brisk days over her summer dress'.  It seems to have worked well as she likes to wear it with other things as well.

This cardigan doesn't have any type of fastener, only two decorative little ribbons.

Little Pearl Top

Little Pearl knitted top

This is a little pearl knitted top that I have made for a friend who is expecting a little girl in the next 6 weeks or so.

The pattern was really fun to try and now Eden wants me to make one for her.... it is designed for a baby so i think i will have to make the pattern a fair bit bigger to fit an almost 11yr old!!

I am looking forward to making this pattern again, i will be putting some on etsy for sure.

A little smoking jacket

A friend was visiting this weekend and working on a cute little knitted cardigan.  I thought it was lovely so wanted to give it a try.  As I don't really do well with following the patterns I changed it a bit and made a cute little smoking jacket.  It should fit an average 3-6 month old.

The last fair for 2011

Well, Christmas has come and gone but I managed to keep forgetting to put up the pics for the Ealing 135 Christmas gift fair.   The girls organising the event did such a good job and a fun evening was had by all.

So many bags.....
